Black Masterbatch

Overview

Black Masterbatch is a concentrated blend of carbon black pigment dispersed in a polymer carrier resin, designed to impart deep jet-black color, opacity, and functional performance to plastics. With superior dispersion technology, black masterbatch enhances not just aesthetics but also UV stability, conductivity, and durability across a wide range of applications.

Physical & Chemical Properties

  • Pigment Content: Optimum grade based on end application
  • Carrier Resin: PE, PP, PS, PET or universal carriers for compatibility.
  • Appearance: Jet-black, free-flowing granules.
  • Particle Size: Fine dispersion for uniform color strength and surface finish.
  • UV Resistance: High, due to carbon black’s natural ability to absorb UV rays.
  • Thermal Stability: Suitable for processing temperatures up to 300 °C.
  • Conductivity: Special conductive grades available for ESD and antistatic applications.

Applications

  • Packaging Films & Sheets: Opaque food packaging, agricultural films, industrial liners.
  • Injection & Blow Molding: Automotive parts, household items, industrial containers.
  • Pipes & Profiles: Water pipes, cable sheathing, construction profiles with UV stability.
  • Fibers & Nonwovens: Agricultural textiles, hygiene products.
  • Electronics & Engineering Plastics: ESD-safe components, appliances, and durable goods.

Processing Techniques

  • Injection Molding – automotive, consumer, and industrial goods.
  • Blow Molding – bottles, containers, and drums.
  • Film Extrusion (Blown & Cast) – packaging and agricultural films.
  • Sheet & Pipe Extrusion – construction, cable insulation, and protective layers.
  • Fiber Extrusion – textiles and technical fabrics.

Sustainability

  • UV protection extends product life, reducing replacement and waste.
  • Heavy-metal free formulations ensure compliance with global safety standards.
  • Optimized pigment dispersion means lower carbon black usage for the same performance.
  • Recyclable grades compatible with base polymers support circular economy initiatives.
  • Available in recycled and bio-polymer carriers, reducing environmental footprint.
