Overview
Slip Masterbatches are functional additives formulated to reduce
friction between plastic film surfaces, enhancing processability,
handling, and stacking. By improving surface lubricity, these
masterbatches enable high-speed extrusion, smooth winding, and better film
performance without compromising transparency or mechanical strength. Slip
masterbatches are widely used in packaging, industrial films, and
consumer goods applications.
Physical & Chemical Properties
- Active
Ingredients: Fatty acid amides, erucamide, oleamide, or polymeric slip
agents.
- Carrier
Resin: PE, PP, PET or universal carriers compatible with most
polymers.
- Appearance:
Free-flowing granules, typically white or off-white.
- Effect
on Polymer: Lowers coefficient of friction (COF), reduces static, and
improves unwind and stacking.
- Thermal
Stability: Compatible with extrusion and molding temperatures up to
300 °C.
- Durability:
Long-lasting slip effect during processing and end-use.
Applications
- Packaging
Films: Shrink films, FFS films, bags, and wraps for smooth handling
and processing.
- Agricultural
Films: Greenhouse covers, mulch films, and irrigation sheets.
- Industrial
Films: Protective liners, pallet covers, and laminates.
- Consumer
Products: Grocery bags, trash bags, and household wraps.
- Textiles
& Nonwovens: Woven sacks, hygiene films, and industrial packaging.
Processing Techniques
- Film
Extrusion (Blown & Cast Films) – primary application to improve
processability and handling.
- Sheet
& Profile Extrusion – sheets, panels, and protective films.
- Co-Extrusion
– multilayer films with slip functionality in selected layers.
- Injection
& Blow Molding – surfaces requiring reduced friction during
processing.
Sustainability
- Reduces
material wastage by minimizing film sticking and tearing.
- Compatible
with recyclable polymers, supporting circular economy goals.
- Non-toxic,
food-contact approved grades available for safe use.
- Energy-efficient
processing due to improved flow and handling during extrusion and
winding.
