Overview
Anti-Fog Masterbatches are functional additives designed to prevent
the formation of water droplets and fogging on plastic film surfaces.
By promoting uniform water dispersion, these masterbatches enhance clarity,
visibility, and hygiene, making them ideal for packaging, agricultural
films, and medical applications. They ensure consistent optical performance
without affecting mechanical strength or transparency.
Physical & Chemical Properties
- Active
Ingredients: Surfactants, hydrophilic agents, or specialty anti-fog
additives.
- Carrier
Resin: PE, PP, PET or universal carriers compatible with standard
packaging polymers.
- Appearance:
Free-flowing granules, typically white or translucent.
- Thermal
Stability: Suitable for polymer processing temperatures up to 280–300
°C.
- Effect
on Polymer: Promotes water spreading, reduces droplet formation, and
maintains clarity.
- Durability:
Long-lasting effect even after multiple processing cycles.
Applications
- Food
Packaging Films: Fresh produce, meat, and perishable goods requiring
clear visibility.
- Medical
Packaging: Sterile wraps, disposable gloves, and protective films.
- Agricultural
Films: Greenhouse covers, mulch films, and irrigation sheets.
- Household
& Consumer Films: Freezer bags, shrink wraps, and transparent
films.
- Industrial
Applications: Protective films on displays, panels, and laminated
surfaces.
Processing Techniques
- Film
Extrusion (Blown & Cast Films) – primary application for packaging
and agricultural films.
- Sheet
Extrusion & Thermoforming – clear panels, trays, and protective
covers.
- Co-Extrusion
– multilayer films with anti-fog properties on one or multiple layers.
- Injection
& Blow Molding – transparent containers requiring anti-fog
functionality.
Sustainability
- Reduces
food and material waste by maintaining clarity and product visibility.
- Compatible
with recyclable polymers to support circular economy initiatives.
- Non-toxic
and eco-friendly formulations suitable for food-contact and medical
applications.
- Long-lasting
performance reduces the need for additional coatings or treatments.
