Anti-Slip Masterbatches

Overview

Anti-slip Masterbatches are functional additives formulated to reduce the coefficient of friction (COF) on plastic film surfaces, preventing slippage and ensuring better stack ability, grip, and handling. They are designed for industries where smooth yet controlled film movement is essential, such as packaging, transportation, and industrial applications.

Physical & Chemical Properties

  • Active Ingredients: Specially engineered mineral fillers or synthetic silica-based additives.
  • Carrier Resin: PE, PP, PET, or universal carriers compatible with standard packaging polymers.
  • Appearance: Free-flowing white or translucent pellets.
  • Surface Effect: Creates micro-roughness on the film surface to enhance grip.
  • Coefficient of Friction (COF): Adjustable as per requirement (typically 0.2–0.5 range).
  • Thermal Stability: Suitable for high-speed extrusion and molding processes up to 280–300 °C.

Applications

  • Packaging Films: Shopping bags, sacks, FFS (form-fill-seal) films, shrink films.
  • Agricultural Films: Greenhouse covers, mulch films where controlled slippage is needed.
  • Industrial Liners: Pallet covers, stretch wraps, and protective films.
  • Textile Packaging: Woven sacks, bags, and roll wraps.
  • Transport & Storage: Palletized goods and bulk packaging to prevent film sliding.

Processing Techniques

  • Film Extrusion (Blown & Cast) – primary application for packaging and industrial films.
  • Sheet Extrusion – thermoformed trays, covers, and packaging sheets.
  • Injection & Blow Molding – containers or surfaces requiring non-slip grip.

Sustainability

  • Reduced material wastage during stacking, storage, and transport by preventing slippage.
  • Recyclable carrier resins ensure compatibility with standard recycling streams.
  • Non-toxic, food-contact approved grades available for FMCG and pharma packaging.
  • Longer product usability reduces packaging failures and environmental impact.
